Course details
These sessions for maths and/or computing subject leaders will introduce the Scratch Maths approach for upper KS2 created by the London Knowledge Lab with input from London Connected Learning Centre as part of an EEF funded programme. Teaching maths concepts through programming in Scratch enables children to learn through experimentation, improving pupils’ problem-solving skills enabling them to master key mathematical concepts. These sessions will be practical, giving teachers hands-on experience of using the materials whilst also allowing time for discussion and reflection. There will be a chance to reflect on approaches to how the methodology can impact on learning in maths and how to best incorporate the Scratch Maths resources into long term planning. The programme will be led by the CLC computing team and support will be offered to teachers between sessions.

This programme is led by London Connected Learning Centre. London CLC supports schools in implementing effective teaching of computing and use of technology to improve pupil outcomes through CPD, pupil workshops, conferences and in-school professional development.
