Maximising the impact of the Pupil Premium

Course Details

Developed by the Education Endowment Foundation and Research Schools Network, this programme draws upon the most recent and robust evidence of impact. It will be led by Marc Rowland, Director of Rosendale Research School.

Session 1

  • Understand the principles of effective Pupil Premium use and the foundations of good implementation.
  • Understand the evidence-informed school improvement cycle and implementation framework.
  • Prepare to evaluate current practice against the principles of effective Pupil Premium use and the foundations of good implementation.

Session 2

  • Explore how to use data to define tightly focused improvement priorities and address the root causes of underachievement.
  • Understand how to identify and apply appropriate, evidence-informed teaching approaches and programmes that address improvement priorities/defined challenges.
  • Understand the evidence around ‘what makes great teaching.’

Session 3

  • Set clear outcomes for the impact of Pupil Premium provision based on identification of pupil need.
  • Develop an approach to evaluate and monitor the progress and quality of Pupil Premium provision.
  • Create an implementation plan.

Session 1   Wednesday 7 November

Session 2  Wednesday 13 February

Session 3  Wednesday 22 May

All sessions will run at Rosendale Research School.

 

Cost is £595 per school plus booking fee, up to two delegates per school
